Products

Last year our Rambouillet ewes averaged 21.1 microns, or 64s, for fiber diameter and produced about 10 pounds of fleece per year. Our Rambouillet/Merino cross lambs averaged 19.5 microns, or 70s. Our Merino Rams averaged 18 microns, or 80s. We test the large sheep herd every year at shearing through Yocum-McColl http://www.ymccoll.com, an independently owned commercial wool testing lab in Denver, CO. They have been in business since 1964. We hand pick the very finest 1% of the fleeces out of this fine herd for all of our Cole Creek Wool products.

Yarn

We have a 2-ply sport-weight yarn from our very fine-wooled Merino rams. It is very soft yarn with a nice sheen and great bounce. This yarn is soft enough to be worn next to the skin. It is $12.50 for a 2 ½ oz skein, approximately 140 yds.

Roving Our roving comes from our very finest Rambouillet ewe and Rambouillet/Merino lamb fleeces.

Rambouillet Ewe Roving
Our Rambouillet roving is fine with an average staple length of between 3 ¾ and 4 ¼ inches. The ewe roving is $2.50 an oz and we sell it in 4 oz ($10), 8 oz ($20), or 1 lb ($40).

Rambouillet/Merino Lamb Roving
Roving from our Rambouillet Merino lambs is very fine with an average staple length of between 3 and 3 ½ inches. The lamb's roving is $48 for a 1 lb bag.

Batt
The batt comes from the bellies of all of our fleeces. The batts are roughly 36 inches by 24 inches, and approximately 1 lb 4 oz. Each batt is $30.

Raw fleeces
Our raw fleeces from coated Rambouillet ewes. They are clean with very little vegetable matter. We have skirted the fleeces, removing the belly wool and any other dirty wool on the fleece. Our raw fleeces are $8-10 per pound. Please contact me for pictures of individual fleeces.

Fleeces currently available:

Ewe Fleece 1
*SOLD*
Approximately 7.5 lbs with a staple length just under 4 inches: $75.

Ewe Fleece 2
*SOLD*
Approximately 7.5 lbs with a staple length 3 ½ to 4 inches: $75.

Ewe Fleece 3 *SOLD*

Approximately 5.5 lbs with a staple length of 3 ½ to just under 5 inches: $44. This is a beautiful, very fine fleece from one of our Rambouillet/Merino cross ewes. I have discounted it because unfortunately the shearing was a bit uneven on it. But luckily she had a long enough staple that the fleece still has a good, long clip.

Ewe Fleece 4 *SOLD*

 Approximately 8 lbs with a staple length of 3 ½ to 4 inches: $80.

Ewe Fleece 5

Approximately 8 ½ lbs with a staple length of 3 to 3 ½ inches: $85

Ewe Fleece 6

Approximately 9 lbs with a staple length of 3 ½ to 4 inches. This is a lovely fleece, but I am discounting it because it has slightly more bugs than others: $85.

Ewe Fleece 7

Approximately 6 ½ lbs with a staple length of 3 to 3 ½ inches: $65.

Ewe Fleece 8

Approximately 5 lbs with a staple length of 3 ½ to 4 inches. A very fine fleece from one of our Rambouille/Merino cross ewes: $50.

Lamb Fleece 1 *SOLD*
A lamb fleece, approximately 5.5 lbs with a staple length between 3 and 3 ½ inches: $44.

We will have more fleeces available after shearing. Please check back in March.
